(May 24, 2026) Growing up in Hyderabad, Kaushal Bodapati was surrounded by a city that balanced tradition with rapid technological growth. Today, based in Boston after completing his MS in Business Analytics from Suffolk University, Kaushal has built a career in analytics and business intelligence, working on projects involving Power BI, SQL, dashboard development, automation, and retail data optimization.
Working as a Data and Power BI Analyst, he focuses on transforming complex business data into practical insights that support strategic decision-making. His professional journey reflects not only technical growth, but also personal evolution through adapting to a completely new country, work culture, and lifestyle.
“Living abroad has helped me become more independent, adaptable, and open-minded,” he tells The Global Indian. “It has been transformative both professionally and personally.”
Growing up in Hyderabad
Born and raised in Hyderabad, Kaushal describes the city as an important influence on his outlook toward education and ambition. Hyderabad’s fast-growing technology ecosystem exposed him early to innovation, while its cultural roots kept him grounded in traditional values.
“Growing up in Hyderabad gave me a strong cultural foundation while also exposing me to a fast-growing and technology-driven environment,” he explains.
As he progressed academically, his interest gradually moved toward analytics, reporting systems, and technology-driven business solutions. He became increasingly interested in how data could help organisations make better operational and strategic decisions.
That interest eventually motivated him to pursue opportunities abroad, especially in a field where technology and analytics were evolving rapidly.
Moving abroad for education and opportunity
Kaushal moved to the United States to pursue higher education and build a long-term career in analytics and business intelligence. He enrolled at Suffolk University in Boston, where he completed his MS in Business Analytics.
The move brought opportunities, but it also came with challenges. Adapting to a new country, understanding different workplace expectations, and managing life independently required patience and resilience.
“One of the biggest challenges was adapting to life and work in a completely different country while simultaneously building my career,” he says.
Like many international students and professionals, he also had to navigate cultural adjustments while proving himself professionally in a competitive environment. However, those experiences strengthened his confidence and adaptability over time. “Those challenges ultimately made me more confident, disciplined, and solution-oriented,” he reflects.

Living abroad also expanded his perspective on work and success. According to him, professional growth became closely connected with personal growth, independence, and balance.
“I’ve realized that long-term success comes from consistency, adaptability, and staying grounded regardless of where life takes you,” he says.
Building a career in analytics and business intelligence
Kaushal’s work has focused heavily on Power BI, SQL, dashboard development, reporting automation, and retail analytics. He gradually moved from handling technical reporting tasks to becoming someone trusted to collaborate directly with business teams and contribute to strategic discussions.
“One achievement I’m particularly proud of is successfully developing and implementing real-time dashboards that significantly improved reporting efficiency and business visibility for stakeholders,” he says.
His role today involves translating complex business data into meaningful insights that can improve decision-making and operational performance. This includes dashboard creation, data modeling, troubleshooting reporting systems, and collaborating with stakeholders across teams.
He especially enjoys the balance between technical problem-solving and business communication. He believes analytics is not only about understanding data, but also about presenting it in ways that help organisations make smarter decisions.
“I want to work on impactful projects where data can directly influence business strategy and operational efficiency,” he explains.
As analytics continues to evolve rapidly, he remains focused on continuous learning and improving his expertise in automation, visualization tools, and business intelligence systems.
A workday built around problem-solving
A typical workday for the professional begins with reviewing dashboards, reports, and business priorities. Much of his time goes into data analysis, dashboard development, troubleshooting reporting issues, and collaborating with stakeholders to understand operational requirements.
Professionally, he values consistency and adaptability. “There were moments where I had to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to high-pressure environments,” he says. “That taught me the importance of continuous learning.”
Outside work, he consciously tries to maintain a balanced routine. Fitness and personal development play an important role in helping him stay focused and productive.
Outside work, he enjoys gaming, soccer, anime, road trips, and following technology and business trends. He believes making time for these interests helps him recharge mentally, stay motivated, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

“I strongly believe maintaining hobbies is important for mental balance and creativity,” he says.
He regularly makes time for the gym, follows technology and business trends, watches sports and entertainment content, and stays connected with family and friends despite living abroad.
He also spends time learning about personal finance, investments, and global opportunities related to analytics and technology. For him, professional development does not stop after office hours.
“I consciously try to make time for these interests because they help me recharge, stay motivated, and maintain a healthy work-life balance,” he says.
Looking toward leadership and long-term impact
At this stage of his career, Kaushal Bodapati’s aspirations extend beyond technical expertise alone. He hopes to grow into leadership-oriented roles within analytics and business intelligence while contributing more strategically to organisations.
“I want to become someone who can contribute strategically, mentor others, and create measurable business impact,” he says.
From Hyderabad to Boston, Kaushal Bodapati’s journey reflects the changing aspirations of many young Indian professionals who are building global careers through technology, adaptability, and continuous learning. For him, success has become more than just career progression. It is equally about growth, balance, and staying open to new possibilities wherever life leads next.
