“Quality has always been at the core of both my businesses. When you work with global luxury brands, you understand each brand brings its own ethos, and working with them challenges you to push your own standards higher,” he says.

The Making of an Experience-Driven Entrepreneur

Sara’s journey began in Mumbai, not in boardrooms or luxury spaces, but in college festivals and small celebrations. As a child, Sunny enjoyed planning celebrations. “I was always the one organizing birthday parties, school fun fairs, or family get-togethers. I loved the energy of it.” By the time he reached college, this passion had turned into something bigger. He was running college festivals, planning events, and gaining a reputation for knowing how to create buzz.

He didn’t realize it then, but he was already learning the skills that would define his career—understanding audience psychology, building engagement, and making gatherings memorable.

The London Moment: Spotting an Opportunity

After college, Sunny took a trip to London. What was meant to be a vacation turned into a business revelation.

“I saw how events were being promoted in restaurants and nightclubs there. It wasn’t just about music or drinks; it was about selling an experience. That didn’t exist in Mumbai yet, and I knew I could bring that model back home.”

At the time, Mumbai’s nightlife was still developing, and structured event marketing was rare. Seeing this gap, he decided to introduce a new approach.

Bringing Nightlife Marketing to Mumbai

Back in India, he wasted no time. His first big project? Fire ‘n’ Ice—one of Mumbai’s most iconic nightclubs at the time. “We started promoting events there before anyone else was doing it. That evolved to increase my knowledge on ground marketing events, and I saw an opportunity to make it a business.”

What began as nightclub promotions quickly turned into a full-fledged hospitality venture. Sunny wasn’t just attracting crowds; he was curating immersive nightlife experiences. From themed events to venue branding, he transformed how people engaged with nightlife, paving the way for Orion Entertainment.

Beyond Nightlife: Creating Luxury Hospitality Experiences

As Sara’s expertise in audience engagement deepened, he expanded his vision. “The more I worked in events, the more I realized how much I loved hospitality. The way a place makes you feel, the atmosphere, the energy—it’s all part of the experience.”

Orion Entertainment quickly became a pioneer in India’s high-end hospitality sector, offering not just premium nightlife experiences but luxury hospitality spaces designed around immersive storytelling. Soon, his deep understanding of creating meaningful brand experiences led to Orion Marketing & Communications, where he applied his hospitality knowledge to luxury brand activations and experiential marketing.

Entrepreneurship Lessons: The Power of Relationships

Like any entrepreneur, Sara has faced challenges—earning the trust of global luxury brands, staying ahead of evolving trends, and maintaining excellence in a fast-changing industry. His biggest lesson? Building trust and strong relationships.

“One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to be upfront with clients. If something isn’t possible, you have to say it. People appreciate honesty. It builds trust.”

His advice for budding entrepreneurs is simple but powerful: “Get hands-on experience before jumping in. Build your identity based on your strengths and skill set, and just go for it. Life’s too short for regrets. And always, always build strong partnerships—because teamwork makes the dream work.”
