(August 8, 2025) Growing up in a modest two-room apartment in Old Delhi, Sanjay Sehgal’s favourite place to sleep was in his grandfather’s room, for the stories he narrated. “He would take me back in time to his youth in Fateh Jang, in undivided India, where the nearest city was Peshawar. He ran a brick kiln business there and often travelled to the city for work,” Sehgal recalls. “Through his stories, I learnt not only about enterprise but also about resilience. He spoke of the painful migration to India during Independence, when he had to leave behind everything he had built. Those memories, filled with courage, grit, and quiet dignity, left a lasting impression on me. His presence and tales instilled in me a deep sense of optimism and a spirit of enterprise,” the Atlanta-based entrepreneur and angel investor reflects in an interview with Global Indian.
Those early stories of loss, perseverance, and reinvention laid the foundation for a life of purpose, one that would take Sehgal from Delhi to Atlanta, and eventually to the helm of a global tech enterprise. Today, he leads Aziro Technologies (formerly MSys Technologies), an AI-first organisation at the forefront of innovation in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and automation. As its Founder, Chairman, and CEO, he has built a global presence with operations across the United States, India, Malaysia, and Australia.
As a philanthropic initiative Sehgal has collaborated with the Padma Bhushan awardee and spiritual guru Kamlesh D. Patel. Sehgal’s organization provides technological support to Patel’s Heartfulness Movement, a global initiative rooted in meditation and mindfulness that is offering a grounding counterbalance to the relentless pace of the digital age.
The Heartfulness Institute operates across more than 126 countries, supported by a wide network of trainers and centres. Its global footprint enables the delivery of several heart-based wellness programs like Heartfulness at Work and Heartfulness Healthcare, making mindfulness and inner well-being accessible to individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Sanjay Sehgal has played a role in expanding its reach throug his organization’s technological support.
From Delhi to Atlanta
Sanjay Sehgal grew up in India and earned a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communications from the Delhi College of Engineering in 1988. His education laid a strong foundation in analytical thinking, technology, and structured problem-solving. “It also taught me the importance of discipline, perseverance, and adaptability—skills that have served me well throughout my professional journey. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of learning from remarkable mentors and leaders who helped shape my approach to innovation, leadership, and continuous growth. That early exposure to engineering principles continues to influence the way I build scalable systems, lead teams, and navigate complex business challenges today,” he says.
After passing out from the Delhi College of Engineering in 1988, he began his career as a software engineer at DCM Data Products during the early days of India’s IT resurgence. “I had the opportunity to contribute remotely to several projects in Silicon Valley, the heart of the global software industry,” he mentions. This eventually led to an invitation to work full-time in Atlanta, USA. He began his career in leadership as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at American Megatrends from 1998 to 2000, where he gained deep insights into enterprise technology and market dynamics. “My dedication got the company a deal worth more than 200 million dollars, and along with that, my professional life as an employee came to an end as I took the plunge to become an entrepreneur,” he shares.
Entrepreneurial journey
During the turbulence of the early-2000s recession, Sanjay Sehgal co-founded iVivity, a storage networking startup that defied market odds by securing funding in its first year. The company was soon recognised as a “Top Emerging Private Company” by the Technology Association of Georgia and the MIT Forum. Sehgal served as Chief Operating Officer, helping establish its early market footprint.
In 2008, drawing on years of experience with U.S.-based product companies in data infrastructure and FinTech, the entrepreneur co-founded MSys Technologies. “I brought with me a strong product development mindset from all the previous years and managed to embed it into MSys’s core values—customer intimacy, innovation, and technical excellence,” he shares.
Sehgal led the company through a phase of global expansion and strategic acquisitions. Under his leadership, MSys evolved into a cutting-edge technology partner. Today, rebranded as Aziro, the company has transformed into an AI-native product engineering powerhouse serving enterprises across continents.

For Sehgal, living and leading across borders means carrying India’s cultural and spiritual depth while shaping global innovation. “It’s about blending tradition with transformation—taking the humility, resilience, and values nurtured in India and applying them to solve complex global challenges,” he avers. As someone deeply involved in technology and entrepreneurship, I find it incredibly rewarding to represent India on the world stage, not just as a participant, but as a driver of meaningful change,” adds the entrepreneur who has been in the Red Herring Top 100 Asia list, a few years back.
Learnings as an angel investor
For Sanjay Sehgal, setbacks are not failures—they’re stepping stones. “Each one has something to teach us. What may feel like a failure in the moment often ends up being the very thing that helps us grow,” he shares. Resilience, he believes, is the cornerstone of success. As an angel investor, he’s seen that winning ventures are led by teams who are passionate, adaptable, and learn from their missteps. “If there’s anything worth chasing, it’s creativity and innovation. When you stay true to that, the rewards have a way of finding you,” he adds.
Purposeful living
Finding harmony across his personal and professional spheres has been a conscious choice. The entrepreneur and angel investor now divides his time between running Aziro, nurturing his family, and giving back through his work with the Heartfulness movement. “This balance didn’t come overnight—it was the result of consciously designing my life around my values,” he explains.
A key force in maintaining this equilibrium is Heartfulness Meditation, which he discovered while living in the U.S. “Heartfulness has taught me to live from the heart, not just the mind. In a world filled with constant noise and distractions, this connection offers a rare and precious clarity,” he reflects.

Guided growth
Sanjay Sehgal draws inspiration from many sources, particularly from entrepreneurs whose work have left a lasting impact. Visionaries like Steve Jobs and Tim Cook have shaped his outlook on innovation and leadership—pushing boundaries while staying rooted in purpose.
“Equally, if not more profoundly, I am guided by Shri Kamlesh D. Patel, lovingly known as Daaji, the global spiritual guide of Heartfulness. He is my friend, philosopher, and mentor. His teachings have helped me navigate life’s challenges with grace, and his presence brings a deep sense of calm and clarity that keeps me grounded. Every moment spent with him is a moment of learning—quiet, powerful, and often transformative,” he shares.
Looking ahead, Sanjay Sehgal remains focused on expanding Aziro’s global capabilities, helping businesses scale and adapt to a rapidly evolving tech landscape. “I also plan to continue mentoring young entrepreneurs, supporting startups with the potential to transform industries, and creating lasting value within the tech ecosystem,” he concludes.
