Ajit and Sarah Isaac of Quess Corp donate ₹105 crore to Indian Institute of Science

Ajit Isaac, chairman of Quess Corp and his wife Sarah Issac have donated ₹105 crore to the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. Ajit signed an MOU with IISC for setting up a Centre for Public Health and Policy Research.

The centre would be known as Isaac Centre for Public Health (ICPH). It would get operational by 2024 and aims to provide dual degree programmes like Master of Public Health MPH-PhD (5-6 years) and Master of Public Health MPH-MTech (3 years) to nurture education and research in the area of public health.

IIPH would become a part of the IISC postgraduate medical school which is to be set up soon. The foundation has been laid to encourage aspirants to pursue careers in clinical research in order to develop new treatments and healthcare solutions driven by a bench-to-bedside philosophy.

The centre will be located in the IISc Medical School’s Academic and Research block and would span on one floor of over 27,000 sq ft. It will be equipped with research labs and computational facilities to provide best facilities for research programmes. Students would get exposed to statistics, epidemiology, data science and AI/ML techniques so that they enhance their knowledge in deep domain expertise.

The funding by Quess Corp couple also supports international fellowships for students, scholarships, visiting chair professorships and endowed chair professorships. The fund will be utilized in carrying out impactful research projects in public health, including bio-surveillance, digital health, mobile-based diagnostics etc.

Ajit and Sarah Isaac have made the donation through their family run Isaac foundation. Established in 2007, Quess Corp has an impressive geographic presence in 65 locations across India, with operations across South East Asia, North America, South America and Middle East. It is headquartered in Bengaluru.
