Riffa, Bahrain, ZIP Code: 905
I have been living in Riffa for the past eight years – residing in West Riffa while my office is located in East Riffa. I chose this arrangement because West Riffa is predominantly residential, and the locality where many expats live. Traffic is not a big issue here, and I love driving, so it’s a perfect setting for me.
Besides work, East Riffa is where I sometimes spend my weekends for leisure activities. Being a country that attracts a significant number of tourists, Riffa is considered one of the must-visit places due to its status as the second-largest city in Bahrain.
Riffa boasts places of attractions like the Riffa Fort, Clock Tower, bustling shopping streets, and modern malls, but I prefer quieter locales. One such spot is Riffa Walk Park, where I never miss a weekend stroll, and sometimes even visit after work if I am in the mood. True to its name, it’s an ideal place for brisk walks. Recently renovated, it’s becoming greener and more inviting, especially with the addition of numerous swings where children can be seen enjoying themselves.
Another favourite haunt of mine is the Riffa Bazaar, a local market that offers a traditional shopping experience. From fabrics and clothing to everyday household items and spices, it captures the essence of Bahraini life. It’s my go-to spot for Sunday morning shopping sprees.
For relaxation, I sometimes go on a drive, late at night to relish the beauty of the resplendently lit city. I also turn to Riffa Palms, which provides the calm and tranquility, I seek in my leisure time. Its lush landscapes and rows of towering palm trees create the perfect serene getaway for me, away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. I enjoy leisurely walks there and always bring along some snacks to share with family and chill out.
