(Our Bureau, May 19) Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and family are donating $15 million to Seattle Children’s Hospital to further their work on neuroscience and mental health care. The donation will be used for recruiting medics, expanding the hospital’s mental health initiative, building a clinical trial program and establishing the Zain Nadella Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neurosciences, the hospital announced. 24-year-old Zain — Anu and Satya Nadella’s son — lives with cerebral palsy and has been receiving care at the Seattle Children’s Hospital since his birth. “It is our hope that in honoring Zain’s journey, we can support Seattle Children’s in advancing precision medicine neurosciences, mental and behavioral healthcare, and providing equitable access to care for every family and community,” the couple said in a statement.  The donation will support the hospital’s aim of raising $1.35 billion through its campaign ‘It Starts With Yes’.
