India’s tech startups raise $90 billion in 7 years

Did you know that 0.8% of India’s workers generate as much as 8% of the country’s GDP? The global digital literacy program and digital investment by the COVID-19 pandemic is likely to double our software employment in the next five years. In fact, even the startup ecosystem is booming in the subcontinent, with several successful internet startups either achieving unicorn status or filing for IPOs. In the past one year alone Indian internet startups have raised over $20 billion from global investors this year, shattering the previous record of $13 billion that was raised in 2019. In fact, since 2014, India’s tech startups have managed to raise $90 billion from 500 institutional investors.
