India has been busy setting records in its vaccination drive. On September 17, the country set a new record by administering over 20 million Covid-19 doses, the highest on a given single day. Lauding the efforts of medical professionals and healthcare workers, PM Narendra Modi said, “Every Indian would be proud of today’s record vaccination numbers. I acknowledge our doctors, innovators, administrators, nurses, healthcare and all front-line workers who have toiled to make the vaccination drive a success. Let us keep boosting vaccination to defeat COVID-19.” The country’s inoculation drive has been ramped up through advanced visibility of vaccine availability to states and UTs to enable better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.
