Viksit Bharat India@2047: Aditya Pittie’s blueprint for a $30 trillion economy

Written by: Vikram Sharma

(September 17, 2025) Whether as an entrepreneur leading the diversified Pittie Enterprises Group, as an angel investor supporting India’s startup ecosystem, or as a BJP office bearer contributing to policy discussions, Aditya Pittie’s trademark precision defines his work. He brings that same meticulousness to his writing, most recently in his second book,Viksit Bharat: India @2047, an ambitious and data-rich roadmap that asks a bold question: Can India become a $30 trillion economy by its centenary of independence in 2047?

As the author, his answer is an emphatic yes. Backed by extensive research, case studies, and analysis compiled across sectors, the book reflects not just Pittie’s disciplined approach to work but also his deep commitment to India’s nation-building journey.

A vision in print

“In a world of biased narratives, data removes ambiguity and provides transparency. In addition, I felt it was important to unbundle and explore the various facets of ‘Viksit Bharat,’ which I believe is a vision and mission statement for the country,” Pittie tells Global Indian. The inspiration for the book stems from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary call: “This is the time, the right time, India’s precious time.” For Pittie, this isn’t just rhetoric but a mission.

“It embodies the spirit that everything is possible,” he says. “The conception stemmed from perceiving a need to present a positive and forward-looking narrative with data and numbers — not merely opinion.” The result is a book that Pittie describes as an encyclopedic exploration of India’s developmental landscape, supported by extensive data, case studies, and in-depth analysis, serving as a one-stop compendium of reliable information for stakeholders.

From debut to depth

Aditya Pittie’s debut book, Modi’s North East Story, co-edited with writer and BJP spokesperson Tuhin Sinha, was well received internationally.

With Viksit Bharat: India @2047, he has ventured into deeper and broader terrain, producing a sweeping 752-page compendium published by Fingerprint Publishing of Prakash Books. It lays out a comprehensive blueprint for India’s transformation into a developed nation by 2047, envisioning an economy projected to surpass $30 trillion and positioning India as a global powerhouse.

Endorsements and gravitas

Viksit Bharat: India @2047 carries a foreword by Prof. S.P. Kothari of MIT Sloan School of Management and has drawn words of support from some of India’s most respected voices, including Suresh Prabhu, Motilal Oswal, T.V. Mohandas Pai, Dr. Anand Ranganathan, Dr. Arvind Gupta, and Harish Mehta. These endorsements lend the book additional gravitas, highlighting the relevance of Pittie’s work.

Behind its pages lies a synthesis of his personal experiences, global education, and business-policy interactions. Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Pittie reflects on India’s rapid strides since 2014, from lifting 250 million people out of extreme poverty to becoming a space and technology leader.

A multifaceted impact

For Pittie, the book’s impact extends beyond policymakers. He envisions it as a resource that will be valuable to business leaders, scholars, and everyday citizens alike. “Policymakers and business leaders will find it useful as a practical guide for decision-making. Citizens will discover optimism, hope, and confidence within its pages, bolstered by robust data and positive narratives,” he believes.

Above all, he sees the work as a call to action. By emphasizing the importance of citizen participation and cultivating a sense of self-confidence, Pittie hopes to inspire collective ownership of India’s journey to prosperity, inclusivity, and sustainability. “The book is dedicated to the people of Bharat, whose collective spirit will shape the nation’s future,” he remarks.

Roots of an entrepreneur

Aditya Pittie’s entrepreneurial instincts are rooted in legacy. Born in New Delhi and raised in Pune, he belongs to the storied Pittie family, founders of the Raja Bahadur Motilal Poona Mills in 1893, the first textile industry in Pune. Growing up in this environment profoundly shaped his early years. “As a scion of the Pittie family, I was immersed in a business environment from childhood, with family members historically involved in industrial and entrepreneurial pursuits,” he recalls.

He attended The Bishop’s School and St. Vincent’s High School in Pune, where his academic drive set him apart. “I was always driven and excelled academically, a trait that carried over into my higher education.”

Global education and perspective

Pittie pursued higher studies abroad, graduating summa cum laude in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He then earned a dual Master of Science and MBA at MIT, where he also explored sustainable energy solutions through his thesis “Gateway to Energy Democracy.”

“Michigan honed my technical skills and analytical thinking. MIT’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, including my mentorship role at the Martin Trust Center, exposed me to cutting-edge ideas and networks. And Harvard Law School’s courses on cross border mergers and acquisitions broadened my perspective on business and policy,” he says. These experiences shaped him profoundly, instilling resilience, innovation, and a global outlook that continue to inform his entrepreneurship and policymaking.

Staying connected to alma maters

Pittie’s ties to his alma maters remain strong. He is Regional Ambassador for the MIT Alumni Association, a board member of the MIT South Asia Alumni Association, a founder member of the University of Michigan India Alumni Association (UMIAA), and a member of the University of Michigan Engineering Alumni Board. Through these roles, he channels mentorship, innovation, and global collaboration back into India.

The entrepreneurial leader

As Managing Director of Pittie Enterprises Group, Aditya oversees businesses spanning precision automotive and aerospace components, solar energy solutions, real estate, and fintech. He also co-founded KPay Innovation Pvt. Ltd., an embedded pay-as-you-go platform that enhances consumer affordability. “My role involves strategic oversight, innovation, and scaling these ventures to contribute to India’s economic growth,” he explains.

Angel investor and mentor

Beyond running his businesses, Aditya Pittie actively nurtures India’s startup ecosystem. As a Mentor of Change for the Atal Innovation Mission and guide at incubation centres such as Rambhau Mhalgi Prabhodhini, Pinnacle, and previously the MIT Martin Trust Center, he combines funding with hands-on mentorship. “This involves guiding emerging entrepreneurs in areas like technology, sustainability, and business scaling, drawing from my own experiences,” he says.

Politics and policy

Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for nation-building, Pittie joined the BJP and has since taken on leadership roles that merge business with policy. He earlier served as In-charge of Pune City and Vice President of the Maharashtra BJP Industry Cell, and today is the Convenor of the BJP Intellectual Cell for Western Maharashtra. “I contribute to discussions on economic reforms, development strategies, and Maharashtra’s and India’s future,” he explains, adding that his articles and media appearances allow him to engage with wider national debates.

A missed meeting

His work has brought him close to several senior BJP leaders, including External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Yet one dream remains unrealized. “I have regretfully not met Modi ji one-on-one, and it remains one of my greatest desires and unfulfilled wishes. However, my inspiration from his leadership has been profound, shaping my commitment to nation-building and aligning my work with his call for a developed India,” says Pittie with a smile.

A disciplined routine

Behind the public roles lies a life of structure and balance. Pittie begins his day with yoga, exercise, and reflection before turning to business oversight. “Mornings involve strategic meetings for ventures like PYN Autocomp, Agni Solar, and KPay. Afternoons and evenings are for policy work with the BJP Intellectual Cell, writing, or family time,” he shares. A keen reader and traveler, he thrives on learning from people and experiences.

Plans to scale up business and thought leadership

The future, for Pittie, is about scaling ambitions in both business and thought leadership. “In business, I plan to expand the Pittie Enterprises Group, scaling precision automotive and aerospace components, solar energy solutions, and fintech innovations through KPay,” he says.

He also intends to foster international collaborations aligned with India’s vision of becoming a $30+ trillion economy by 2047. Writing, too, remains central to his mission. “Building on Viksit Bharat India @2047 and Modi’s North East Story, I intend to author more books on policy, economic reforms, and nation-building. Future works may explore specific sectors and state-level development,” he mentions.
