Over the last couple of months, the National Payments Corporation of India has partnered with banks or payment companies in several countries such as Oman, Saudi Arabia, France, and the UK to make UPI available for Indian citizens in these countries. It already has partnerships with Nepal, Bhutan, Singapore, and UAE. In some of these countries, the partnership is only for UPI, whereas in some, RuPay cards will also work at POS terminals. What is the reason behind taking UPI global?
