World’s highest movie theatre in Leh

A movie theatre amid the majestic Himalayas. Who could have thought that a dream like this could translate into reality? But thanks to PictureTime Digiplex, world’s highest altitude movie theatre is now open in Ladakh. At an altitude of 11,562 feet, its the first ever-digital movie theatre in Leh. Made of inflatable material that is fully waterproof, it can operate at -28°C. In an attempt to bring cinema to the remotest parts of the country, this has come as a beautiful surprise for the citizens of Leh. With affordable tickets and several facilities, the mobile theatre will open a gate to the world of art and cinema. “There would be four such theatres established in Leh. The initiative was taken to bring the movie experience to the remotest areas of India and can be expanded to the rest of the country. Theatres are arranged in a way so that it can operate in -28 degree Celsius,” said Sushil, an organizer told ANI.
