It was a first for India when Bhavani Devi competed in fencing at Tokyo Olympics 2020, and the 27-year-old created history by defeating Tunisia’s Nadia Ben Azizi in the first round. Though she lost in the second round but not without giving a tough fight to World’s No 3 Manon Brunet. Despite the loss, Devi has won the hearts of millions of people.
