Jeff Bezos’ and Richard Brandson’s space trips have caused enough buzz. But have you heard about Kerala-based media entrepreneur Santhosh George Kulangara? He is set to become India’s first space tourist, having booked his seat for $250000 in 2007 in one of the proposed paid commercial space flights to be launched by Branson’s Virgin Galactic. “Branson’s trip indicates that the stage is set for the launch of commercial flights for tourists like me,” Kulangara told Times of India. Santhosh has been to Virgin Galactic’s space sports at Mojave desert in the US and in New Mexico for flight training, including zero gravity and G-tolerance.
